Sosteneo scales up UK BESS
On 23 April, Sheaf Energy Limited executed revised contracts with Gotion High-tech and key delivery partners to increase the capacity of Sheaf Energy Park from 375MWh to 500MWh. The upgrade – a 33% uplift – will be delivered using Gotion’s next-generation battery technology.
The enhancement was agreed and integrated during the construction phase, a technically complex adjustment. The project remains on schedule, supported by contributions from Gotion, Keltbray, SSE, NatWest, the National Wealth Fund, and Pacific Green.
Battery energy storage systems (BESS) remain a key area of focus within Sosteneo’s infrastructure portfolio, supporting grid flexibility and energy system stability as renewable penetration increases.
